Greenwood County

Greenwood County is progressive when it comes to technology and innovation, so building a DEE Roadmap was a logical step in the community’s journey toward advancing economic prosperity and quality of life.

Local non-profit VisionGreenwood has been a sparkplug for community development initiatives and led the charge of assembling a local DEE Dream Team comprised of a diverse group of 14 local champions.

Following the initial stages of the project, interviews, and Broadband Champion training, the Greenwood County DEE Dream Team met in early November 2022 for the first time. They continued meeting 2-3 times monthly for the next eight months.

Armed with an array of existing local assets like the Greenwood Genetic Center, Self Regional Medical Center, Lander University, and Piedmont Technical College, Greenwood’s Dream Team is prepared to implement a strategic plan that opens doors to the SpinLab Innovation, Co-Working & Training Center, a center of gravity for helping residents skill-up for better jobs and pay.
